The "Opening Ribbon Cut Ceremony", gathering top executives of the FPD industry and highly-functional film industry, was held. 24 top executives not only from Japan, but also from Korea, Taiwan and China attended the ceremony as dignitaries. Tokyo Big Sight was covered with excitement of enormous number of visitors. Concrete business discussions and technical consultations were conducted everywhere. Exhibitors exposed brand-new products and held demonstrations of the equipment. A large number of VIPs in the industry attended the Keynote Session to learn the latest technologies and trends. Also, industry leaders gathered at the "VIP Reception Party" from all over the world. This party was effectively utilized for a place to exchange information and strengthen business ties among VIPs. FPD-related products/technologies were also exhibited at concurrent shows "LED/OLED Lighting Technology Expo" and "Highly-functional Film Technology Expo".
